Meet of Champions

And that’s a wrap!
The 2022 MVXC season concluded on Saturday at the Meet of Champions. Held in Alvirne while a bridge at Mines Falls gets repaired, it was a HOT day for November 5th. Samantha, by virtue of a HOT race last weekend, had the honor of representing MV at the meet. Joined by teammates Maddy, Kendra, Jessi, Sydney, and Holey Otie, as well as Mychal and Nathan, not to mention about ten million friends and family, Sam was well-represented. A lively bus ride shared with Newfound preceded the meet…lots of singing (by Newfound), and lots of Spot It and other card games (by MV) got us to the meet.
The race itself was a challenge in the heat - the kind of race you say afterwards “at least I made it, and at least I finished”. Many did not finish - the heat took its toll on all runners. Congratulations to Sam though, finishing her MVXC career at the Meet of Champions is sweet victory in itself and brings her high school harrier career full circle.
