Souhegan (The "Meh" Race) - 9/13/22

A suspicious sky threatened just enough that weaker minds may have canceled the XC race, yet the tougher minds prevailed and the race was on! Although, judging by the majority view of the team that sentence needed to be followed by a frowny face rather than an exclamation point. “Every announcement I kept thinking (hoping) the race would get canceled!” was a common theme. This “meh” attitude led to plenty of “meh” races, but a decidedly non-”meh” speech in the following days by a certain coach. I wish I could quote it, although a certain phrase referencing structures built by beavers keeps getting quoted by those who were there. It was a movie moment.
Anyhow, the course was beautiful, on a horse farm with several ponds and miles of trails. And among the ho-hum races were several that stood out, particularly by Keira and Sydney (haha, I still have your whoopie pie, Syd!), and eventual AWESOME AWARD winner, Kendra! It is coming into Kendra season now, so look out! Only a photo of results was provided, but here are the final times and places:
