MVXC Cap. Area Stats

This is the post for MV-specific stats from the 2016 Capital Area meet. If you are looking for the general write-up, go down to the next blog post!

What a heck of day! To give you an idea, 5 of the top 6 MV girls times on the Home Course (since 2012) were set today, while on the boys side 2 new entries were made, including a new school record! The conditions were perfect, the training has been great, things are looking good for next week!

Team statistics: the girls placed second of 12, almost surprising Concord for the win. The boys just missed a top-5 placing with 6th place out of 14. The girls team-time average (20:58) takes over the #1 spot by over a minute, and ranks only second all-time over all variations of MV’s course, behind only the 2009 team that missed winning DII’s by 4 points. The boys also did well, running their fastest team-time of the year (18:42) and putting themselves 5th on the current course list and 8th all-time! For the girls, Kristie set a new course record, while Lauren moves up to second on the Ravine Course (behind Kristie), Noelle takes over third, Emma moves up to fifth, while Tristan moves up to sixth.

On the boys side, David broke 17 for the first time, and in doing so broke Walker’s Ravine Course School Record. Matt ran fast enough to jump onto the list in 8th position. A note on the lists, we had a very strong boys team in 2012, which is why it’s harder to make the boys list than the girls. The stronger girls teams were back around 2008/2009, although this year’s edition is right on their heels.
